animal farm: final assignment

Animal farm final assignment:

The animal farm is book which is written by George Orwell. The book that he writes are dystopian literature.  It is about a farm where different kinds of animals lived and started a revolution to have more equal rights for all animals, communist society which is comparable to Russia when Stalin had all the power, before humans were in power which changed after the revolution. The author of this book comes from the USA and he support the capitalist society, which is the exact opposite of a communist society and people can choose their job and earn different salaries. In the book the author George Orwell tries to represent the problems with a communist society with a farm. In this book this question comes back multiple times throughout the story and which is like the moral of the story. The pigs were the smartest and had all the power on the farm, the other animals on the farm had less power. They then of course could take all the food and when there was for example, criticism from the horses would lead that they would starve to death. This was due to the fact that pigs had all the food and could decide which food goes to which group of animals. This is question is ‘All animal are equal but some animals are more equal than others”. This is question is a paradox and will be answered in this essay.

Mussolini was the leader of Italy approximately between 1910 and 1945. He was a dictator and introduced fascism which was later, also the type of government when Hitler was the leader of Germany. Fascism is a far right type of governing with the idea oppressing, suppressing and influential on what type of life and job the people have in that particular country, you could for example not choose the job you wanted, but this was chosen for you via the leader of the country. This can be compared, the Napoleon, because in the book the animal farm, he was the absolute leader of the farm and decided everything for the animals who lived on the farm. In the book the animals, first governed the farm democratically, but this changed over time, because Napoleon took all the power, this is the same with Mussolini. He took all the power over the country of Italy. Propaganda was used in real life by Mussolini, what is this that the citizens only get information from one side which is of course the side of the dictator party. The people that try to spread a different idea which is against the leaders of the country will get punished or silenced by the dictator. The key phrase is ’All animal are equal but some animals are more equal than others’’. This phrase translate both to animal farm and the time the Italy was a fascist country, because on the farm the pigs had all the power on the farm and were the only ones who could read and write. In Italy particular groups of people where less equal than others, who for example had other ideas than the government or even a different race than the government, so in both worlds the people/animals were not all equal.

The book animal which was written by George Orwell was written with a ‘political message’. He did not like the Russia (soviet Union), it was communist country under the rule of the dictator Stalin. He wanted to represent this with a farm and the different animals that lived on that particular had certain characteristics which needed to represent the Russian communist society. The key phrase of this book is ’All animal are equal but some animals are more equal than others’’, he wants to make clear that with communist society different groups of people on society do not all have the same rights. On the farm the pigs were the boss and they could whatever they wanted to do and could not stopped or get in the way when they wanted to put a different rule or punished and there was nothing which would stand above the government such as, the court and the law. These example segregate to real life. The cautionary tale in the story is that when certain man or a group of people have all the power there is no one could say something about or could go against which finally ends up with a bad society of unfairness. A quit extreme example, in real life is North Korea where the people have no power or knowing of the outside world which was a bit the same as on the farm. Where the pigs have all the knowledge and the power, the animals cannot go want they want.

To conclude, the key phrase of this book is ’All animal are equal but some animals are more equal than others’’, this key phrase comes back multiple times throughout the story. This essay is written to compare the story in the book and what similarities it has to real life and how certain countries/dictatorship are managed and how the citizens life under this rule, for example a low participation rate or even a small number of educated people. This can happen if the government can do what they want and what happens a lot in fascist countries that they spend a lot of money on the military instead of for example on education. George Orwell, the author of this book deliberate put certain factors and examples and characteristics in the story, to show that the government does not need to much power, because this will have devastating effects. Not only to their economy, but especially their citizens.
