animal farm:

The author of the animal farm is Eric Arthur Blair better by his pen name George Orwell. He was an essayist, novelist, critic and finally a journalist. George Orwell was born in 25June in 1903 in Motahari, India and he died on 21st of January of the disease tuberculosis in London. He is known the best for the two novels he wrote in the late 1940s, this were animal farm and Nineteen eighty-four. In his work he wrote against totalitarianism and Stalinism, this was the dictator of the Soviet-Union in that time. He also fought in the Spanish civil war against the totalitarian regime. In his work he used his political standpoints and talked about dictatorships and different kinds of governments that there were in that time. This Spanish civil war started in 1937 and ended 3 years later in 1939.

Eric Arthur Blair did not like the soviet Union and other totalitarian states. The Soviet Union was Russia and with lots of more other countries such as Poland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and way more countries that border Russia now. This was a communist country, communism is the exact opposite of capitalism, communism means that any citizen gets the exact same wage no matter what job a particular person has. This type of government looks really good and fair for their citizens, because everyone has the same wage, however in Russia and other communist countries. The leader (dictator) who most of times took the power after a revolution, took most of the money and lived a really healthy life. Not only him, but also the leader his friends and the citizens would have little food. That is why Eric Arthur Blair supported capitalism, because then everyone could work his way up social ladder, with possibly earning more money than others in the society. This, also meant that you were more free and could more do whatever you without any suppression from the government. In that time Stalin was the absolute boss and ruled over it’s citizens and if would obey the rules of the Soviet Union or were against his ideas of ruling the country, you would be killed. You had two blocks in that time Soviet Union and some other countries they were friends with, those countries were communist and then you had the western world, which was western Europe and the USA.

He got the inspiration for this book the animal farm , because he saw what was going wrong in Russia and how the population was suffering in the Soviet Union. This was the perfect example for him why totalitarian states are bad and communism is bad for society. In the Soviet Union overall 20 million citizens died due to the oppression of the government on the people who lived in the Soviet Union. In Spain there was also, totalitarian leader and the population of Spain had enough and wanted to be free and say what they want. Not only this, but also freedom and right choose your own profession and path of life. He thought in this war and wanted to help the population who lived in Spain in that time. This kind of events symbolized he really his point of view which he portrayed in the book the animal farm and really thought for his ideas against a totalitarian state and communism. This book was a complete success in the USA in that time, because almost anyone had the same point of view. In the USA they also did not like the Russian Revolution. This was the reason why this book sold so many exemplars.
